Nearly none of the top-end smartphones feature dual-SIM functionality. But we can’t play down the fact that there is still a huge market for dual-SIM smartphones out there. In an attempt to reach out to this market, Samsung is now bringing out a new model of Galaxy Fame, one which will come with support for dual-SIM.
Dual-SIM smartphones are fairly popular in developing markets. This is precisely the reason why most of the smartphone models, equipped with dual-SIM feature, are released in different regions of Asia and similar other markets. The dual-SIM equipped Galaxy Fame has already landed in India and we can expect it to arrive in other countries soon enough.
The smartphone packs a single-core 1GHz processor together with 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. The specs put it among the low-end smartphones. Its display is also an average 3.5″ HVGA, packing a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.
For those who are aspiring to make a switch to Android, this can be an ideal choice. Galaxy Fame also packs a 5-megapixel rear camera together with a VGA front-facing camera. While these specs may not be enticing enough for most users, the price of the smartphone certainly is.
The model released in India is currently priced at some $203 which puts it in the very affordable category. Samsung has branded the dual-SIM model of the smartphone under the model number S6812.
