Acer Iconia Tab A100 Coming This August

Acer Iconia Tab A100 the 7-inch Android Honeycomb tablet will cost and finally available in August. Acer Iconia A100 runs Android Honeycomb (3.1 or 3.2 maybe) nd packs a 1024 x 600-pixel touchscreen, an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of flash storage, a microSD slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, front- and rear-facing cameras, and a battery enabling up to 5 hours of operation per charge……………..

Over at Engadget they’re reporting that official Acer retailers have received e-mails that the A100 will launch in early August. Previously the tablet had been delayed but better it comes late than never at all. Especially so if the price is $300 starting out for an A100, at that price the A100 will be the cheapest Android Honeycomb tablet yet. The A100′s features have been pretty consistent even through the delays and the A100 will launch with Android 3.2 Honeycomb because it’s the only version of Honeycomb that’s better optimized for tablets with smaller screens. Remember this 7-inch tablet will feature a 1024-by-600 pixels resolution. Other features coming with the tablet include a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processing chip, 512MB of RAM, capacitive multi-touch support, 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras, micro USB 2.0, micro HDMI, Wi-Fi n and Bluetooth 2.1 and built-in flash memory storage with expansion through a microSD slot. The tablet will be available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+3G as well, the $300 price quoted above is most likely for an 8GB Wi-Fi only model.

Thanks

This looks really cool… but I’m not sure if I prefer the Asus Transformer! Small screen vs flexibility…
