Acer has unveiled a new generation-3 tablet for its Iconia B1 line-up. The tablet, priced at a mere $129.99, includes a great design and a slim build, packing 7 inches of display.
Since the price tag is fairly low, it is no surprise to note that the slate doesn’t pack top-end specifications. However, it still manages to offer some decent features which may sound sweet in that price range.
The tablet features a 1024 x 600 display which is supported by the One Glass Solution technology. Although Acer isn’t big on design, the company has given this slate surprisingly good looks. With a silky finish and textured back, the slate offers both, a strong grip and an elegant design.
The chip used to power up the 7-inch is a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8111 Cortex A7 dual-core processor. This is complemented with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage space. One of the best features is that the tablet’s storage space can be extended up to 32 GB through micro-SD cards.
The battery life of the new Iconia B1 may be a slight turn-off. The battery lasts for up to five hours, which is significantly lesser than the battery time offered by many other tablets in the market. However, if you are making a budget run and want to squeeze in a great-looking tablet with adequately decent specifications, this Acer slate is actually not a bad choice.
