Rugged mobile computer and smartphone manufacturer Handheld recently showed off its latest rugged tablet PC Algiz 10X at INTERGEO and Mobility for Business exhibitions. Algiz 10X tablet is a tough warrior for rough weather. This tablet PC can protect dust, water, vibrations, drops, and extreme temperatures. This 10.1-inch tablet will make its debut in the market in January, 2013.
Algiz 10 rugged tablet PC is targeted at field workers in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, utilities, construction, maintenance, mining, military and security. Handheld maintained highest military standard in this tablet. This rugged tablet PC has rated to fulfill IP65 and MIL-STD-810G military standards.
“The new Algiz 10X is perfectly suited for field professionals who need a rugged tablet computer that is lightweight and built to withstand the harsh conditions that come with all kinds of industry fieldwork, and that can display detailed maps and other visuals even in bright sunlight,” said Jerker Hellström, CEO of Handheld.
Handheld has used latest MaxView technology in the tablet display. The Algiz 10X comes with preloaded Windows 7 Ultimate and also ready for Windows 8. The tablet is equipped with a Intel Atom N2800 dual-core processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, a u-blox GPS receiver, WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS capability, Bluetooth 4.0, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, SSD disk (expandable via microSD), USB 2.0, VGA and RS232 ports.
The company has not revealed pricing details of the Algiz 10X tablet PC. But very soon, Handheld will start accepting pre-orders.
