At present, there are no Windows 8 tablet available with less than 10-inch screen. But the scenario may change later this year, and it looks like one of the first smaller tablets may come from Acer. Lately, some images of a tablet with the Acer logo has been leaked, suggesting that the company might be working on an 8-inch Windows 8 tablet called theĀ Iconia W3.
It’s been reported that Acer Iconia W3 will run on Windows 8 Pro, and will come with 1.8 GHz Intel Atom Z2760 processor. Besides, the tablet will have a keyboard dock attached along its longest side. It is speculated that Acer Iconia W3 will also pack 2GB RAM, 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a front facing and rear camera, a 2.5 or 3.5 mm audio jack, two microUSB ports, a microHDMI port and at least two speakers.
There’s no word on the storage or other specs, and it’s not clear how much Acer plans to charge for the tablet. But it is expected that the Acer Iconia W3 will hit the stores in September.
