The USB port on a laptop can be used to juice up different small accessories. But when it comes to tablets, the power output from a laptop is simply too little to be of any use. ChargeDr, a tiny dongle, aims to change this by amplifying the power output of your laptop so much so that you can easily charge your tablet with it.
Imagine working on your iPad while travelling, only to realize that its battery is about to die. Now, you have a charged laptop but no other power source to plug your tablet into. Normally, when you do plug your tablet into a laptop’s USB port, the screen gives a ‘Not Charging’ message, since the port’s output is insufficient. Digital Innovations has resolved this problem for you. BTW, we already have an article on “How To Fix iPad “Not Charging” Issue For All Computer & Laptop“, which talks about a software solution.
At the CES event, Digital Innovations has unveiled ChargeDr, a tiny device which the company promises can boost up the power output of a laptop’s USB port so that it is sufficient to crank up your slate. In fact, such is the power amplification of ChargeDr that you are able to charge up your tablet up to four time faster.
According to Digital Innovations, the dongle supports a wide range of both tablets and smartphones, including the notable slates such as iPad, Galaxy Tab etc. The company hopes to make ChargeDr available by March this year, carrying a price tag of $29.99. The price may seem a tad bit high to some users but then, one can’t deny the sheer usefulness of the nifty device.
