[Tips] New iOS 6 Features Your Probably Did Not Know

Few weeks ago the iOS 6, the new operating system for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad 2 and the new iPad has become available. iOS 6 is arguably the most advanced operating system for mobile devices that exist with improved user experience, something that is felt in every detail of their applications. However, no matter how advance iOS user you are, there are plenty of things you are most probably not familiar of, and in this article I will try to cover some of most interesting which you should try.


Mail: The VIP category and its associated functions are one of the most applauded improvements in Mail but there are others such as the ability to put different signatures as the email account from which you write, which is very useful for those who have work and personal account in the same phone.

More accessible Mail Drafts: Click on the button to compose a new message and keep it for few seconds, and the list of all saved drafts will appear.

Add photos or video directly from Mail

Set a reminder when declining a call: when receiving a call in iOS 6 and you decline it, you can send a predefined message (up to 3) to a person who is calling you. Additionally, iOS 6 will add a reminder so we do not forget to respond to that declined phone call.

Shared Photos: Photo Stream allows you to share photos directly from the application. Editing from Photo Stream you have the option to share photos or videos by email, messages, Twitter or Facebook.

Location Based Reminders for iPad are now available.

Close simultaneously several applications through multi-touch, you can now close several open applications at once.

Contacts search extended: when searching in Contacts, the search will consider all fields, not just name and company.

Different keyboards for different contacts: This feature is very useful for those who communicate with their contacts in different languages because you can each associate a different keyboard for each contact.

More dictionaries: In addition to English, a new dictionaries are added for Spanish, German and French languages.

Panoramic photos: your camera can now take panoramic photos, which previously required the installation of other applications (like Dermandar for example) to make them.

Limit your activities tracing: many companies leave data trace on the network to show targeted advertising. Enabling this option in iOS your privacy is protected.

Upload a video directly to YouTube, although the YouTube app is not available iOS 6, you do have the ability to share a video directly on your YouTube account when assessing video options.

Change alarm clock music: you can now customize alarms for certain days of the week and replace a song from your music library. Also alarms are now incorporated in iPad, which previously did not have this app.
