Beats has been working on a music streaming service for a while now. Called Beats Music, the upcoming service aims to offer curated and personalized music experience to the users. Now, it has been revealed that Beats Music will be made available on the web, Android as well as iOS and that it’ll land in the U.S. in a few months.
Beats rose to prominence in the music industry because of its top-end hardware such as earphones and headphones. However, with Beats Music, the company is now entering into the arena of music streaming services, a territory that is already chartered by the likes of Spotify and iTunes Radio.
So how exactly is Beats Music be a different experience? The President and COO of the company, Luke Wood, reveals that “We’re talking about real depth of personalization and knowing who I am, who you are, what we’re listening to, what we like, what we’ve listened to before and then offering up music that is highly relevant to our taste profile.”
In other words, Beats Music aims to let a user find his own music interests and indulge in them without any hassles. Wood adds, “If you really love music, we want something that can go deep with you for a really long time. And that requires a perfect harmony between the algorithm and human curation. Between the man and the machine.”
According to him, the service is expected to be made available in the US within the next few months. We expect to see a top-quality music experience from Beats Music and this expectation can be tested only when the service launches.
