Gmail Gets More Tweaks From Google

Google has been working hard to make Gmail a far more social experience for the users. This, the company hopes to accomplish by integrating more and more social interactive features into Gmail, most of them naturally linked to Google’s social network, Google Plus.

To this end, Google has now introduced a number of tweaks for the Gmail accounts. These tweaks include:

Access to contact details and more:
Now, when the users are searching for an email address in Gmail, they will be able to view the contact details, history of past conversations and much more related to that specific contact. You can then interact with that person using multiple options such as chat, text or call. Moreover, if your Gmail contacts are there on Google Plus, their profile details will also be regularly updated.

Better circle integration:
Google has also significantly enhanced the use of Circles for Gmail users. Now users can see the profile pics of people in a circle by selecting it. Once you click a certain pic, you are then taken to the page containing the details of that contact. Moreover, users are also able to view search results from circles. You can even search messages from a certain circle by typing circle:[circle name] in the search box.

According to the official blog post from Google, “You can refine your search even further with other criteria and create filters based on circles. This means you can now view all the unread e-mails from your “Friends” circle or automatically star every message that comes from your “VIP” circle.”
