Google Fiber Coming To Austin, Texas

What is the next city to get Google Fiber? According to Google Fiber’s website, the next city in line is Kansas City North, MO, and last in the entry is Mission Woods, KS. According to reports, a new name will add to the list shortly – Austin, Texas.

According to a local ABC affiliate KUVE that Google will announce its Austin Fiber roll out early next week. The news channel cited multiple sources within the city’s government.

Yesterday, an invitation was sent out by Google and representatives of the City of Austin about an event that would have a “positive impact on Austinites and the future of the city.” The invitation is vague at its best. However, VentureBeat has cleared up the matter, confirming that “Google and representatives of the Austin government would announce just such an endeavor next Tuesday morning.”
