Google announced that it has received a license renewal from the Chinese government.
“We are very pleased that the government has renewed our ICP license and we look forward to continuing to provide web search and local products to our users in China.”
Google’s (GOOG) ability to do business in China was recently put in question by the government’s request for Google to remove their auto redirect to Google’s Chinese Hong Kong site.
Google then built a manual redirect, which sent users to Google.com.hk when they clicked anywhere on the page.
The Chinese Google site now also has links below the search bar to “Products, Translate, and Music” as well.
