Normally, you would need an iOS device to send and receive iMessages. However, thanks to a brilliant iOS jailbreak app, you can now get your iMessages straight to an Android or Windows Phone device as well.
The very first step in making this magic happen is to get jailbreak your iOS device. Once you have done that, you will be able to access the Cydia store where you can find the ‘Remote Messages’ app. This app costs a cool $3.99 which may sound steep for a Cydia app. But then, the app is the only third-party solution that lets you use iMessages on Android and Windows Phone devices.
Remote Messages supports iOS 7. Once you install the app, you will need to configure it. And when that’s done, all you need to do is open a web browser on your Android or Windows Phone device. There, you will be required to enter the IP address and port number so that your device connects with the iOS device. Once the two are connected, you will start receiving iMessages on your non-Appel device.
However, for it to happen, the iOS device as well as the other device on which are you duplicating the iMessages, need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi. If you are skeptical about the security of your iMessages while using the app, you can enable the authentication, a feature offered on the Remote Messages app. You can even turn on SSL encryption for messages. It is worth noting here that jailbreaking an iOS device voids its official warranty.
