Acer has announced Liquid S2. It is the first smartphone to have 4K video camera and the company plans to introduce the device at IFA 2013.
LG has tried hard over the years to gain a sizable foothold into the smartphone market but it hasn’t exactly succeeded. The company has launched a number of high-end smartphones in recent past. At least one of these, namely Optimus G, seems to have picked up some success, with LG announcing that it has now sold more than 1 million Optimus G smartphones.
During the second quarter of 2012, iPhone sales had considerably slowed down. This was primarily because of the anticipation that surrounded the launch of iPhone 5. Once Apple launched the new smartphone, the sales picked up again and an analyst has now estimated that Apple shipped nearly 52 million iPhone devices during the 4th quarter of 2012!
On Friday, AT&T announced that its users Motorola Atrix HD will get the chance to update their devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is available for Atrix 4G’s big brother, the Atrix HD.
Apple usually has to undergo a number of regulatory issues before it is able to launch its devices in China. So was the case with iPhone 4S and same has been the case with iPhone 5 which delayed the device’s launch in the country until now. Now, Apple has announced that iPhone 5 will become available in China by December 14.
Google Wallet support page suggests that it is working on a physical Wallet card and trying to bring a non-NFC version of the app to every Android 2.3+ device.
HTC has recently sent out invites for an event in collaboration with Verizon to be held on November 13. It may well be the occasion to unveil one or more HTC devices.
U.S. Cellular is launching its 4G LTE network in 30 new markets today. Today’s launch covers both expansion of the 4G LTE network in some states already under coverage and launch of the 4G LTE in some states previously out of coverage.
