Google Started Campaign To Notify DNSChanger Malware Infected PC Users

The problem began in last November when FBI and other security authorities took down hackers running an international advertising scam. The hacker group had run an internet ad scam by infecting internet users’ DNS settings, and sending them to hacker controlled DNS servers which lead the users to false sites. The hackers earned from the advertisement money they showed on those websites. When the security authorities nabbed the hackers, they took down the DNS servers. But, the affected computers’ DNS system were broken and can’t work with other DNS servers. This would have led the infected computers out of the internet. That’s why the security authorities established a safety net by using government operated DNS servers for those computers.

Google Stands Victorious In Patent Infringement Case Against Oracle

The case between Oracle and Google has dragged on for a while. The court had to determine whether or not Google had used Java APIs in the Android software and that were such infringements covered under fair use. While the jury did agree to the former, it was unsure to the latter question. Google’s Project Glass Receives New Patents

In April, Google revealed details of its research in the Project Glass concept glasses and showed a demo video of a prototype. Google Glasses haven’t landed at your nearest eyeglasses shop yet but they have landed at the US Patent and Trade Office. They have been granted three different patents (1, 2, 3) for the design of different Google Glass headsets.

Google Finally Seals The Motorola Deal Raking In $12.5 Billion

Google has long been pursuing its ambition to acquire Motorola Mobility. Both companies agreed to the acquisition, raking in a whopping $12.5 billion. However, they needed clearance from regulatory authorities in Europe, America as well as China to go ahead with the deal.
