Google Shopping Listings Won’t Be Free Much Longer

Google has announced through their Commerce blog that the current shopping search feature will be turned into a new shopping search engine called “Google Shopping” for users in the United States in this fall. Currently, the service is free and search results of product are based predominantly on relevance. But, it won’t be free much longer for advertisers according to the new announcement. After the service is commenced, merchants have to bid for top spots in the Google Shopping results which will be marked as Sponsored.

Apple Plans To Replace Google Maps On iOS With Its Own Maps This Year

It has been previously reported that Apple is working on a mapping solution of its own which it intends to offer to iOS users as an alternative to Google Maps. Some have speculated that Apple will be unveiling this solution in iOS 6 which Apple may announce during WWDC 2012. Trust Seal Provider KikScore Acquired By Google

The KikScore technology and certain assets of it has been acquired by Google, recently. The Washington DC and Denver-based, KikScore is popular for providing online trust seals for small businesses. The company has told that their service will no longer be available to customers after June 28, 2012. They gives advice to customers to check out the ‘Google Trusted Store’ product as an alternative to the KikScore service. Currently, KikScore has served globally 1700+ small business customers. Google and KikScore did not provide any information about the acquisition financials.

Google To Reveal The Next Dimension Of Maps On 6 June

Google will reveal behind-the-scene workflow of Google Maps and Google Earth, and share it’s vision for map related products at a special press event which will be held on Wednesday June 6. Brian McClendon, Vice President of Google Maps and Google Earth will walk the reporters through the invitation only tour. Google is expected to show off some demo of the newest technology and a sneak peek at upcoming features. The event will be held a week before Apple’s WWDC event where the latter is expected to officially drop Google Maps to make way for its own mapping system.
