Sir Isaac Newton was truly a genius. Whereas he was able to formulate his own theories about a number of things, he presented the world with certain mathematical puzzles which mathematicians couldn’t solve, even to this day. What is surprising enough is that now a 16-year old genius boy has solved these puzzles, taking the world aback.
Shourrya Ray is just 16-years old and he has been able to baffle the world and the mathematicians in particular, with his genius. The puzzles that he solved were related to two fundamental particle dynamics theories. Physicists have been able to solve them but only with the help of really powerful computers.
So Ray effectively becomes the first mathematician to have ever solved these puzzles on his own. With the help of his new solutions, scientists will now be able to calculate the flight path of a thrown ball and at the same time, also predict the way it will hit the wall and then bounce off it.
Ray says that he came across the puzzles during a school trip when he was told by a professors that these puzzles can’t be cracked. Ray decided to disagree, ‘I think it was just schoolboy naivety. I didn’t believe there couldn’t be a solution.’
He has been quite a genius right from the start. He was able to master German, a language he had never spoken earlier, within no time and in quite an early age. At the age of 16, having accomplished such a feat, Ray has proved that intellect is not limited by age at all.
