Google just showed off a new 11.6-inch Chromebook from Acer at Google I/O promising an eight second boot time with an Intel Atom N570 CPU, 16GB SDD, instant-on, two USB ports, webcam, HDMI and 6.5 hour battery life and it’s cheaper than the Samsung Series 5 also announced, starting at $349 with optional world-mode 3G available for more cash………
Probably one of the most anticipated announcements from this year’s Google I/O was the unveiling of the Chrome OS based notebook called, Google Chromebooks. Partnering with Samsung and Acer, Google has introduced a true cloud computing machine. Starting June 15th and in 7 countries, the Google Chromebook will be available to the public.
Google reaches 100 millionth Android activation, 400,000 Android devices activated daily and there are now 200,000 Android applications in the Market which have accumulated a total of 4.5 billion installs……….
Google TV getting Android 3.1 and Market this summer.According to Mike Cleron from the Android Development team, developers will be able to use the vanilla Honeycomb SDK to build apps for Google TV and also announced hardware partners will include Samsung, Vizio, Logitech and Sony……….

The rumor of the day is that Apple is dumping Intel and its x86 architecture for ARM and now the idea that Apple would move to ARM isn’t exactly new. Jason Perlow argued that case a while ago and it seems that Apple intends to migrate their laptop and desktop range to ARM-based chips, the sooner the better……….
