Winrumors has posted a very interesting video of an iPad 2 running iOS 5 compared to a Windows 8 Slate and the video goes over almost every feature that these tablets offer, from lock-screen to social network integration. The certain features like Mail, Calendar and App Store could not be compared between the two as these features are not available yet on the Windows 8 developer preview build…………….

Google has a long standing tradition of naming updated versions of their Android operating systems after desserts and he Ice Cream Sandwich update has been pushed back to Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean being one of the few dessert names to start with a J, there is a very good chance it could be the next name and Ice Cream Sandwich is said to be a big update in itself with it being a common platform for both Android smartphones and tablets……………
Vestel and Exent announce partnership to bring hit Android games to TVs worldwide at IBC 2011. You could call it Google’s backdoor assault on the game console business and the game consoles will get a run for their money from the casual games available on Exent’s GameTanium subscription service. It is one more sign that the barriers between different sectors of the games business are being knocked down and the result could be disruption or at least an erosion of the traditional game console business, and games could spread to still another platform……………….
Research firm Ovum says smartphone app downloads will be up 144 percent this year and Android downloads will overtake iOS app downloads for the first time, which means is on its way to surpassing Apple’s number of annual app downloads. pple’s iTunes App Store has been way out in front with the Android Market ringing up a somewhat-distant second place and Ovum expects Android to garner some 8.1 billion app downloads this year, compared to about 6 billion for Apple iOS devices……………..
