Apparently Gmail has been a rather favorite target for hackers especially from China so what Google did was to start encrypting Gmail through the Chrome web browsers and https in your address bar in the Chrome browser it means that your Gmail is safe from outside eyes trying to take a peek into your inbox. However you access to http://gmail.com it will lead you to the unencrypted version 0f Gmail, but that’s assuming you’re not reading your emails through the Chrome browser…………

Google Web Mapping Now Track Your Phone

Google’s Web mapping appears to be able to track your phone within feet of your actual location in yet another wrinkle in the ongoing location-based services and privacy debate that will now hit Congress, if someone knows a hardware ID, they may be able to find your physical address. Only Google and Skyhook Wireless make their location databases linking hardware IDs to street addresses publicly available on the internet, which raises novel privacy concerns when the IDs they’re tracking are mobile………….

Google License China Mapping

Google has applied for a licence to keep on serving maps in China, in the face of a government crackdown on unauthorised mapping services and declined to confirm the report when contacted by AFP and calls to the government agency were not answered. Google has seen its share of the lucrative Chinese search market slide to the profit of local rival Baidu as tensions with Beijing increased over a number of cyberattacks the US web giant claims originated in China and there was no indication whether the Gmail spying campaign was related to a China-based cyberattack on Google that prompted the company early last year to stop bowing to Internet censors and reduce its presence in the country……….

Google Invests $280 Million For Solar Energy

SolarCity, the largest residential solar power provider in the state of California, which also provides financing, monitoring and installation services announced that it plans to team up with Google to offer discount services as part of a new financing initiative. Google Builds Largest EV Charging Network

Google says it has largest corporate EV charging network in the US with some 200 chargers currently in place, plus an extra 250 that are on the way and Google has purchased some extra Chevy Volts and Nissan Leafs, this Gfleet will eventually expand to include a total of 30 EVs, which explains the expansion of its ChargePoint Network. The company hopes this initiative will encourage more people to purchase EVs, and estimates that it’ll eventually save a total of 5,400 tonnes of CO2 per year and the equivalent to removing about 2,000 cars from the road…………
