Android Apps Coming To QNX BlackBerry

RIM’s new QNX software for BlackBerry which is expected in early 2012 will be Android App compatible and RIM has not publicly announced this feature for its mobile devices, it has announced that the QNX-powered PlayBook tablet will be able to run Android apps. BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will get the long-awaited native email and PIM functionality in September with its own Android app player coming by the end of the year and compatibility with Android apps would plug a gaping hole in RIM’s BlackBerry ecosystem, as the current selection of apps in the BlackBerry App World is pretty abysmal……………

Android Still King Of The US Smartphone Market

As Android continues to dominate U.S. smartphone market share month after month, a new report argues that this momentum will be the key to saving Motorola and it is that rapid growth and popularity which could be the key to save flagging Motorola Mobility, which was purchased last week, according to a new report from the NPD Group. Android currently holds 52 percent of the smartphone market as of the end of the second quarter of 2011 and there’s been some concern voiced about how Google might treat its other Android partners now that it has an actual device maker under in its tent, but NPD doesn’t think that’ll be a problem and Google has said publically that things wouldn’t change with its partners……………….

Canon Introducing Two New PIXMA MG6220 And MG8220 All-In-One Printers

Canon’s new PIXMA MG6220 And MG8220 All-In-One, 9600 x 2400 dpi color printer / copier / scanners. This device allows you wireless printing from Google Docs, Gmail attachments and PDFs or from phones, tablets, laptops and computers. The Canon Easy-PhotoPrint dedicated mobile app, allows you to put order from your Android and iPhone devices or access Picasa albums from the printer directly and add cool-ish effects like Fish-Eye, Miniature and Toy Camera using the touchscreen. The PIXMA MG6220 And MG8220 will have an estimated selling price of $199.99 and $299.99. The MG6220 loses some of the high end features but keeps all the connectivity of the MG8220. Nikon Introduce Coolpix P7100, AW100 And Four S-series S100 / 6200 / 8200 / 1200pj Cameras

Nikon Inc. announced the new COOLPIX Coolpix P7100, AW100 And Four S-series S100 / 6200 / 8200 / 1200pj Cameras. Engadget share the specifications for all this cameras. It start’s with the assembly line is the $500 Coolpix P7100, with its 10.1 megapixel CCD sensor, 7.1x zoom lens, 921k-dot tilting LCD, and manual controls. This point-and-shoot in tow will probably be more interested in the $380 AW100, which includes a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, 5x lens, 1080p video capture, built-in GPS, and water resistance to 33 feet. Then another one is $430 S1200pj (pj, for projector). We have not actually seen using the built-in projector in Nikon’s digital cameras, but it’s a fun gimmick nonetheless. This model adds iOS compatibility, letting you project 60-inch iPad videos at a whopping 20 lumens. It also has a 14.1 megapixel sensor, 5x zoom, 720p video, and a 3-inch LCD.

BlackBerry Music Streaming Service Is Coming

Research In Motion is preparing to roll out its own music streaming service for BlackBerrys in an attempt to compete with Apple and more reports suggested that the service will charge $5 a month for 50 songs. The BlackBerry Messenger Music Service will arrive as a beta in the U.S., Canada and the UK in early September and subscribers will not be able to export music to PCs, but they will be able to transfer it to their PlayBook tablet. RIM is aiming to use the new subscription music service as a source to revive interest in its BlackBerry Messenger functionality……………
