ARCHOS 80G3 And 101 G9 Android 3.1 Tablets

Archos has a new pair emerging from Paris, 80 G9 and 101 G9 Android 3.1 tablets. The biggest differentiator between the two is the screen size, with the former offering an 8-inch panel with a 1024 x 768 screen resolution and the latter stepping up to a 10.1-incher (1280 x 800). The G9 range features the industry’s fastest dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, the largest storage capacity with a Seagate 250GB Hard Drive, Honeycomb 3.1, Android Market, 1080p HD video and 3G capability. The duo is scheduled to go on sale at the end of September with the 80 G9 going for $279 and the 101 G9 for $349………

Apple: Samsung Can’t See iPhone 5 And iPad 3

Apple sued Samsung for allegedly ripping off the iPhone and iPad, Samsung’s request to see Apple’s next iPhone and iPad has been rejected by a US judge as the two tech giants battle in court over smartphone patents. Samsung had argued it needed to see what Cupertino was working on in order to judge whether its own future products might be infringing, but the court didn’t really buy it………….

Firefox 5 Released

Mozilla has launched Firefox 5, a new version of the popular open source Web browser and this is the first update that Mozilla has issued since adopting a new release management strategy that has drastically shortened the Firefox development cycle. Mozilla has successfully delivered Firefox 5 to users a mere three months after the release of Firefox 4 and the new version is unsurprisingly light on user-facing changes due to the shortened cycle, but has some decent improvements under the hood. It also proved to be fairly robust during our tests, which suggests that the browser’s quality hasn’t suffered from the transition to the new release management strategy. Firefox 5 is the addition of support for CSS animations, an experimental CSS3 feature that allows Web developers to do keyframe-style animation on CSS properties………..

Apple’s patent essentially gives it ownership of the capacitive multitouch interface the company pioneered with its iPhone, to produce a new round of lawsuits over the now-ubiquitous multitouch interfaces used in smartphones made by the likes of HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Research in Motion, Nokia, and others that run operating systems similar in nature to Apple’s iOS…………
