New Apple Patent Shows Schematic Maps

Apple has shown interest in creating a new Maps application for the iPhone and other iOS devices that would exaggerate some details, like roads or landmarks to make navigation easier to follow and a patent shows that Apple’s maps will simplify things to the user by providing the most relevant information in the given situation. Coincidentally this seems to go with Apple’s overall design philosophy and the patent is called Schematic Maps, which first determines the amount of screen real estate that is available to the user………….

Apple Reuse And Recycling Program

Apple puts PCs on free recycling party list, opens doors to iPads, iPhones and when you recycle with Apple, your used equipment is disassembled, and key components that can be reused are removed. Glass and metal can be reprocessed for use in new products and a majority of the plastics can be pelletized into a raw secondary material. With materials reprocessing and component reuse, Apple often achieves a 90 percent recovery rate by weight of the original product and the company still recycles old iPods and mobile phones (regardless of manufacturer) for free………..

Verizon Preventing Jailbreakers From Unauthorized Tethering

Verizon put its foot down on subscribers using unauthorized tethering apps and now blocking hotspot apps used on jailbroken devices. Verizon began blocking unauthorized hotspot access through jailbroken smartphone apps as early as last Friday and the current limitation only seemingly affects the hotspot aspect, the ability to allow up to five additional devices to connect to Verizon’s network via a smartphone. AT&T and Verizon have both justified their moves by noting that they don’t prevent customers from tethering and Verizon has come under particular scrutiny thanks to a clause in the agreement the company signed when it licensed the 700 MHz C Block it uses to run its LTE network………………

UCLA Engineers Invent Photovoltaic Polarizers, Now Devices Could Be Powered By It Self

Photovoltaic polarizers could make self-charging that makes the dreams come true. UCLA engineers allows LCDs to recycle energy, with photovoltaic polarizers, devices could be powered by sunlight, own backlight. This is most worse thing to losing the charge of smartphone or laptop running down when we have no access to an electrical outlet. But the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science could finally help solve the problem. According to the researchers, the traditional LCD polarization process loses as much as 75 percent of light energy something that eats around 80 to 90 percent of the device’s power. By using polarizing organic photovoltaic cells, the LCD-packing gizmo can recycle its own lost backlight energy, keeping itself charged for longer. Checkout more details in the press release bellow.
