Lenovo Introduced Three IdeaTab Tablets At IFA 2012

Lenovo has introduced three new Android-based IdeaTab at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany. The three new models are IdeaTab S2110, A2107 and A2109. The visible difference among the three is, IdeaTab S2110 has an optional detachable keyboard dock but the other two don’t have any. Reportedly, Lenovo will release its IdeaTab A2107 in September, where other two models are already available.

ATIV May Be Samsung’s Windows Based Devices Trademark

A recent report claimed that Samsung has set ‘ATIV’ brand name for its Windows based devices. Sammobile has twitted “Windows 8 tablets by Samsung called: ATIV (GT-P8510)” with a screenshot. According to the tweet, the company’s Windows based tablets have got ‘ATIV’ trademark and the source said that the tablets brand name will be ‘ATIV Tab’. Currently, Samsung has used ‘Galaxy’ brand name for its Android based devices.

Windows Phone 8 devices might hit the market earlier than anticipated, reported PocketNow citing unnamed sources. According to the earlier speculations, Windows Phone 8 RTM (Release to Manufacturing) was expected to be introduced in September, and the devices were expected to hit the market in November. But the new report from PocketNow says, some Windows Phone 8 devices may come as early as September.

Apple Sought $30 Per Smartphone, $40 Per Tablet In Royalties From Samsung

According to reports, in October 2010, Apple executives met their counterparts in Samsung to settle concerns that Samsung’s tablets and smartphones infringe Apple’s iPhone and iPad device patents. New court documents in the Apple vs Samsung patent war have revealed that, Apple proposed a patent licensing deal with Samsung that time. Apple offered to license its portfolio of patents on the order of $30 per smartphone and $40 per tablet in royalties from Samsung.
