Human waste can be used in many things. The buzzing news is space agency NASA has planned to use human waste to power rockets!
Last year during a spacewalk outside the ISS, an astronaut was about to die as water was leaking into his helmet. He was so lucky that he survived, thanks to another astronaut. However, here's the exclusive video of that incident.
The entire world welcomed the new year in a glaring style. While everyone in Earth was conveying their greetings to others in different ways, International Space Station (ISS) astronauts were not lagged behind. From ISS, the astronauts wished our planet a very Happy New Year.
NASA astronauts have fixed the critical cooling line leakage at ISS. But while repairing the critical cooling line leakage at ISS, an astronaut experienced an issue with his spacesuit and hence, NASA has delayed its next repairing.
NASA has sent two astronauts at ISS to fix the critical cooling line leakage for which NASA had to shut down all non-essential equipment inside the ISS. Today, the astronauts have completed the first stage of repairing cooling line leakage at ISS for 6.5-hour spacewalking.
Lately, a cooling line at the ISS has been leaked and to fix that, two American astronauts will be sent into space this weekend. As a safety precaution, NASA has developed snorkels for those astronauts, if 'just in case' their helmets fill up with water while repairing the cooling line.
Due to zero gravity, it's really tough to do things normally in space as we do on Earth. And to let us know how complex it is to get habituated or do things in space, NASA has released a video where how 43-year-old astronaut Karen Nyberg manages to wash her hair at International Space Station (ISS).
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It has been one of the prime ground of space exploration projects. You might have already read that space agencies wanting to construct a permanent base on the Moon. The construction has already started. Recently, a study commissioned by NASA has claimed that astronauts will start living on the Moon by 2020!
Social media not only help people connecting with other people and sharing information with them, but also help space people to connect with Earth people and share their experiences. Recently, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, who is currently at the International Space Station (ISS) took part in a question and answer session, and revealed details about life in space on Reddit.
It's really difficult to sleep in noisy place. Insomnia can cause lower performance, decreased memory, and even sickness. Office people can have a power nap in CalmSpace. But what will the space astronauts do as they are stuck in a noisy machine all the time and within that noisy environment, they have to sleep. We don't know whether the astronauts in space can even sleep well or not in space, but NASA has pointed it out a big fact. Hence, NASA has decided to replace fluorescent lighting panels in the ISS with a Solid-State Lighting Module (SSLM), SDTO 15008U that produces blue, white, or reddish light. NASA hopes these LED lights will cure space astronaut's insomnia.
