You may have the best toothbrush in the world, but are you sure enough that whenever you brush your teeth, you brush it thoroughly? Are sure sure that during brushing, you leave no single spot untouched? Well, while there’s a chance to be sure whether or not you’ve brushed your teeth properly, then why not using it? There’s a smart toothbrush named Kolibree that tells you “whether you brushed long enough and reached the hard-to-reach but important parts of your teeth and gums.”
Kolibree smart toothbrush is the world’s first connected electric toothbrush, designed to track brushing habits and encourage better dental care.
It uses Bluetooth to connect to an iPhone, automatically synchronizing data each time the toothbrush is used. Kolibree analyzes brushing habits and then displays them on a mobile dashboard, which can be accessed via an iOS app.
The toothbrush itself features switchable heads, allowing multiple users to use one toothbrush base.
There is a built-in sensor that measures the amount of time that a user spends brushing and whether hard to reach areas are properly cleaned.
The Kolibree toothbrush has vibration speeds and brushing patterns ranging from 4000 to 12500 RPM, and the battery lasts for approximately one week before needing to be recharged. However, the Kolibree smart toothbrush has been unveiled at this CES 2014. It costs £60 ($100) and it is supposed to “go on sale after April this year.” Here’s a video of Kolibree smart toothbrush.
