LG Plans On Launching A New Competitor To Siri, Dubbed ‘Quick Voice’

Apple’s Siri has definitely upped the competition for other smartphone vendors. Ever sinceĀ  Apple launched its iPhone 4S with Siri, the world has hailed it as a defining feature for the handset and millions have flocked to lay their hands on it. Samsung tried to respond to this by introducing its own voice-based personal assistant called S Voice. And now, LG has jumped the bandwagon.

LG has now unveiled plans of launching a voice-based personal assistant of its own. The company is calling it ‘Quick Voice.’ The feature is expected to be released later this month.

Whereas this will be only the second voice-based personal assistant from an Android vendor, it is going to ship with limited functionality. For instance, Quick Voice, when it is released by LG later this month, is going to work with only 11 a pps.

These include the basics such as phone and calendar and email. Also, users will be able to access the web and search for weather updates, stock quotes and other information with the help of Quick Voice.

LG will be releasing the feature in the form of a software update on Optimus Vu ‘phablet.’ In July, the feature will also land on Optimus LTE 2.
