Land-mowing is not a very pleasant activity if you are not into gardening. Especially in the summers, it gets really hard to find a motivation of mowing the overgrown grass in the lawn. But don’t worry, since Honda has unveiled the Miimo robotic grass cutter which is a comprehensive solution for your lawn chores.
The Miino robotic lawn mower is quite smart in that it can mow the lawn without requiring any human supervision. You simply have to specify a boundary using a wire and it will automatically cut the grass within that area. It is able to trim down the grass by a length of 2 – 3 mm on weekly basis.
The sucking fan within Miimo allows it to erect the grass blades and then cut them to the right length, thus enabling it to finely trim your lawn. Also, when it runs into a solid object, its sensors help it navigate away from it. Miimo also manages its wheel and speed blade on its own, depending upon the terrain.
The security of this robotic lawn is ensured through two ‘lift’ sensors. As soon as Miimo leaves the ground, these sensors are triggered and they, in turn, start an alarm. The robot also shuts down completely and can not be used again until the owner enters a unique PIN.
For now, Honda has plans of launching Miimo in the European markets by 2013. It will be available in two models and prospective buyers can lay their hands on it by purchasing it from Honda Authorized Dealers.
