IFA 2012 is showcasing some very impressive devices this year. Sony has taken the occasion to up the ante on its Xperia series and has unveiled three new Android smartphone on the lineup. The devices are called Xperia T, Xperia J and Xperia V.
Xperia T is the new flagship device from Sony, featuring an impressive 4.6-inch HD display. The device comes with a 13-megapixel camera and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Moreover, it also has the option of LTE 4G connectivity and not surprisingly, comes equipped with NFC. The device will feature Android Ice Cream Sandwich right out-of-the-box and will be updated to 4.1 Jelly Bean soon after the release.
The other new release from Sony is Xperia V which features the same chip and camera as Xperia T but is slightly diminished in terms of display at 4.3 inches. Although the device is geared to be low-specs as compared to Xperia T, it has a unique feature, namely a water-resistant skin. By default, the device doesn’t offer LTE 4G connectivity but Sony promises that it will soon enable the feature through an update.
Finally, Xperia J is a fairly modest smartphone compared to the above two devices. It comes with a 4-inch display and a 5-megapixel camera. The chip is also low-power, compared to Xperia T and V, standing at 1GHz.
