The Archos 70c colorized e-book reader is ready to pre-order in the United States. There is a slight change in nomenclature, with device sporting the Archos 70c name. A ship date hasn’t been revealed yet, but interested buyers can head to JR.com already. Priced at $149.
Archos 70c/b Android eReader features 7″ TFT resistive touch-screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, speakers, headphone jack, Wi-Fi, an SD card slot, accelerometer, 4GB of storage, 600MHz CPU (hopefully dual-core), and the battery is rated for 10 hours of e-reading.
Powered by Android 2.1 OS, the device comes with Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities, the Archos 70c will house within itself an SD card slot, speakers, headphone jack, accelerometer, 4GB of storage, 600MHz CPU.
On the power front, the device will have a battery set that would provide 10 hours of e-reading.
Tipped as Archos’s first ereader-focused device, the Archos 70c will also boast of Adobe DRM support for obtaining ebooks from different sources.
The Archos 70c will be equipped with properties that will make it play videos and audio files, display photos, browse the web and all that an Android ereader does.
