Verizon Wireless officially announced the release date and pricing for the much-anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic and it will available on September 8 for $299.99 with a two-year contract, the Droid Bionic is the carrier’s first 4G smartphone to feature a dual-core 1GHz processor, more specifically TI’s OMAP 4 chipset. The Bionic seems like it’s just the Droid X2 with LTE and this is the company’s first dual-core LTE smartphone and also the thinnest such device on Verizon’s network………………

According to Verizon the new BlackBerry Torch 9850 smartphone will be available online from Sept. 8, and in Verizon Stores on Sept. 15. The Phone features BlackBerry 7 operating system and HTML 5 performance. This smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor, 3.7-inch high-resolution touchscreen display and 5-megapixel camera with flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Verizon Preventing Jailbreakers From Unauthorized Tethering

Verizon put its foot down on subscribers using unauthorized tethering apps and now blocking hotspot apps used on jailbroken devices. Verizon began blocking unauthorized hotspot access through jailbroken smartphone apps as early as last Friday and the current limitation only seemingly affects the hotspot aspect, the ability to allow up to five additional devices to connect to Verizon’s network via a smartphone. AT&T and Verizon have both justified their moves by noting that they don’t prevent customers from tethering and Verizon has come under particular scrutiny thanks to a clause in the agreement the company signed when it licensed the 700 MHz C Block it uses to run its LTE network………………
