Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, revealed some impressive statistics about Android activations. At Motorola’s press event in New York, Eric Schmidt said that now 1.3 M Android devices are getting activated each day. The previous activation statistics were – 700k/day in last December, 900k/day earlier this summer and 1M/day in last July.
Along with this activation per day achievement, Eric Schmidt noted that there are currently about 480 million Android devices worldwide. The number of Android devices in use worldwide is at least two or three times greater than its closest competitor, as per comScore.
Schmidt also mentioned that Google was late to accept the fact that among those activated android devices, tablets alone account for 70k.
