Google Postpones Monday’s Android Event Over Hurricane Sandy

Android fans, waiting for the new Nexus phones and tablets from Google, have to wait a bit longer. The Android event scheduled to be held on Monday in New York City has been cancelled. The decision has been passed on to reporters though email.

Google cancelled the event because of safety reasons. The event location in NYC has fallen under the evacuation of hurricane Sandy. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency due to concerns over the approaching hurricane.

Google was expected to unveil new Nexus devices and an updated Android in the event. But, fans would have to wait a bit more to get a glimpse of the new offerings. They can, however, catch the latest rumors and leaks around the devices in our site.

Google has said that it will announce the rescheduled date of the event as soon as it is decided.
