We recently reported the much-anticipated release of iOS 7 untethered jailbreak. Now, reports have it that another iOS hacker is preparing a jailbreak tool for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4, claiming that he may release the tool soon.
It may sound absurd as to why would someone want to release a jailbreak tool for an older iOS version. But the fact is that the visual revamp of the user interface in iOS 7 doesn’t sit well with many iOS users. Although Apple has worked hard to make the upgraded looks of iOS 7 enticing enough, some people found the new color scheme too bright.
Then there’s the problem of the parallax effect. The effect was originally hailed as a component which will give iOS 7 a more immersive feel. However, since most of us have to use our handsets while walking and moving around, the parallax effect can cause motion sickness.
This is why many iOS users want to revert back to an earlier iOS version, which is not possible until a jailbreak for an earlier release is available. And so, a significant number of iOS users are fervently waiting for the iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak to become available.
According to the iOS hacker iH8sn0w, he is currently working on the jailbreak and has already run it successfully atop a 5th-generation iPod Touch as shown in the video above. He says that he will soon release a full version to the iOS community, although the final version will be limited to Macs alone. This means that you will need a Mac to install and run the jailbreak tool, which will not work on a PC.
