Google has started to show Nexus 7 tablet ad on its home page. It is a rare instance, because traditionally its home page is ad free. The search giant is actively promoting its Nexus 7 tablet. It seems that the company really wants people to give a look of its product. This process is similar to the Amazon, because Amazon’s home page is now dominating by Kindle advertising.
Google is showing the top part image of the Nexus 7. Above the image, a text line is appearing “The Playground is open. The new $199 tablet from Google” along with a link to the 8GB version of its Google Play store.
It is not the first time for Google to show ad on its home page but it is a rare case. Google first showed up an ad of its product in late 2009 with the original Droid from Motorola and Verizon Wireless.
Early this week, Google has added three new European countries Spain, Germany and France in its Nexus 7 availability list.
