As the rumors about the new top of the line tablet Apple’s next generation iPad intensify, analysts are trying to figure out what the competitors will do and how the products on the market are going to evolve. Previously, tablets gained with each generation more powerful processors and more RAM but the display resolution hasn’t got that expected leap that users expect. Many tablets on the market have screen resolutions of 1024×768, 1024×600, and even 800×600.
However, industry observers predict that next year we’ll see serious improvements in this area. The most rumored about tablet release of next year is obviously, iPad 3, rumors now point to March, 2012 as the new release date. After a few mixed signals from the supply chain about the display resolution of the next generation iPad and some worries related to the ability of manufacturers to deliver panes according to Apple’s intent, now all the rumors hint to good news. iPad 3’s display resolution is expected to be of 2048X1536.
Rivals like Samsung, Acer or ASUS are also rumored to put the latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, to a good use with tablets featuring a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Samsung has also announced of its plans to release high-resolution tablets. Further educated guesses of analysts tell us to expect more diversification in terms of screens’ sizes. We are most likely to see more models of 7, 8.9, 9.7, 10, and 11.6-inch tablets.
