The fair and good form of SEO, called white hat SEO, is used only to make the website more visible by designing it in such a way and making it more user-friendly so that the traffic is triggered due to the interface and content of the website. Consequently, this helps the website rank higher in search engine results. According to Google folks, ‘White hat” search engine optimizers often improve the usability of a site, help create great content, or make sites faster, which is good for both users and search engines.’
However, the other form of SEO is called black hat SEO or black hat webspam is the use of different tools which are used in an attempt to ‘trick’ the crawler of search engines into believing that they have the content relevant to a certain query, even if they may not in real. This and numerous other techniques are deployed to bump the ranking and traffic count of a website, without making any genuine efforts in improving content.
Now, Google has decided that such website who are making use of black hat SEO will be punished by Google so that their page rank will be automatically decreased when Google’s new algorithm finds about them. According to the search giant, this will help them discourage webspam and allow users to discover genuine content. The ‘war’ will be waged within the next few days.
