Cloud storage has already become a popular notion with the users around the globe, enabling them to remotely secure their files and access them whenever needed. Dropbox, being a leader in the arena, has been trying to expand the scope of its services. And now, by taking a leap to that end, it has offered integration of Dropbox accounts with Facebook Groups.
The new service is being offered only on Facebook Groups for now and requires a user to connect his Dropbox account with his Facebook account. Once the two accounts are connected, the user is able to see a ‘Choose File’ from Dropbox option on Facebook Groups.
The option sits under the Status update box and can be availed with a single click. You are able to share files and documents from your Dropbox straight on the wall of a Facebook Group, and these shared items are then visible to other members of the group. They can then comment and like these files.
Moreover, if you edit the original file in your Dropbox account, the shared item on the Facebook Group is also edited to show the changes that you have made. The feature is very useful for the avid users of Dropbox as well as for professionals who may feel the need to share data from their Dropbox accounts from time to time.
This may also be just the start of a partnership between the two web giants, Facebook and Dropbox, and can eventually lead to a deeper integration of the services offered by the two.
