GeoHot has reported on its official blog that he has given all his remaining legal defense donations (sum of $10,000) to the Electronic Frontier Foundation an organization that fights for freedom in the world of technology.
George responded to questions that had been placed in recent days, or what he planned to do with the money received from donations of people around the world, and a little ‘surprise, as everyone expected it could return the proceeds to community that has supported his battle against Sony, GeoHot responded in this way:
As Promised, all legal defense money left over, plus a little to bump it to a nice number, Has Been Sent to the EFF. Thank you all so much for your support, without it, Things Could Have Been Much Worse.
This money goes to the EFF in Hopes That America can one day again be a shining example of freedom, free of the DMCA and ACTA , and private interest That will never trump the ideas laid out in the constitution of privacy, ownership, and free speech .
At the end of the day, I take comfort in something. The PS3 got OWNED.

Sony and Geohot recently settled a lawsuit over the jailbreak of the PS3 with Geohot consenting to a permanent injunction as part of the deal.
