When Google finally unveiled its Project Glass and showed the world what it was up to, it was truly mesmerizing, at least in the beginning. So far, most of us had thought that this was the only project of its kind. However, the CEO of Oakley Inc. has now revealed that his company has been working on similar tech-equipped glasses for more than a decade!
Google has created quite an uproar in the tech world with its Project Glass. The first impression to Google’s awe-inspiring video depicting Google glasses was that everyone was totally impressed. However, after the first feeling, many grew sceptic about it. And now experts have said that the Google glasses that were shown in the official images can’t possibly hold the hardware to pull off all the functions depicted in the video.
Ever since Google has publicly spoken out about its Project Glass and has even shown a video depicting how the glasses will work, there has been a roaring debate in the blogosphere. Our first reaction, naturally, was that of awe over such a great product which you could wear around. Imagine you are wearing a sleek, cool-looking glasses. The glasses have a display screen which shows you all the data you want to see in real-time. It has an Android OS running on it and also has a 3G and 4G connectivity options. To scroll and click, all you have to do is tilt your head a little. While that seems something out of James Bond movies, Google has been reported to be actually working on this. In fact, some have stated that Google will launch these glasses by the end of this year.
Google puts on its sociological glasses and this week launches a new website entitled Value of the Web. The aim of this new domain is to collect and archive relevant information from around the world which sheds new light on the economic toll the Internet might be having on all areas of our life.
