Desktop Builds Of Firefox ‘Mobile’ OS Available

Earlier this month, Mozilla Foundation announced the development of a new standalone mobile OS under the Firefox brand – Firefox OS. The effort was supported by several operators throughout the world, and also received support from ZTE and TCL Communication Technology. Firefox OS is expected to arrive commercially on 2013. China Has Pervasive Access To 80% Of World’s Telecom Infrastructure: Analyst

Michael Maloof, a former senior security policy analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Defense of US, said that the Chinese government has pervasive access to about 80 percent of the world’s communications. This access gives the Chinese government the ability to undertake remote industrial espionage. The expert fears that the Chinese government and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is capable of intercepting communications in countries like USA even though the Chinese vendors haven’t built any commercial telecom infrastructure in there. The report also said that China is looking currently to nail down the remaining 20 percent of the world’s telecommunication infrastructure.

First Firefox Mobile OS Phones Announced, Operators Support Initiative

Mozilla has confirmed today that devices featuring its new mobile OS, under the Firefox brand, will commercially arrive on 2013. Initially, two mobile phone manufactures, TCL Communication Technology (Alcatel) and ZTE, will launch devices featuring Firefox OS. The first mobile phones featuring the new OS will launch commercially in Brazil next year through Telefónica’s commercial brand, Vivo. Other leading global operators including Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia and Telenor are also backing the initiative.

Adobe Repaired Critical Flash Bugs, Also Released Sandboxed Plug-in For Firefox

Adobe has repaired seven critical debilitation in Flash Player and side by side released sandboxed plug-in for Firefox and security updates for Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. The company also released Adobe Flash Player 11.1.115.8 and earlier versions for Android 4.x, and Adobe Flash Player 11.1.111.9 and earlier versions for Android 3.x and 2.x, respectively. It is the fifth security update in 2012, that means Adobe has faced many security bugs. The company said that these updates allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.
