The latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich has been quite a rage of late. Android vendors are trying hard to bring it to as much of their devices as possible, mainly because it is the most user-friendly OS from the Android front so far. Samsung has recently posted on it’s Facebook page that it will soon bring Ice Cream Sandwich to Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy S II by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

Galaxy Smartphones Make Samsung’s Q4 2011 A Successful One

Samsung is perhaps the only note-worthy contender to iOS devices when it comes to smartphones – at least in terms of number of shipments and profitability. Apple reported a very successful Q4 earlier. And now Samsung is out with the results, declaring that it’s smartphone sales, especially that of Galaxy series of smartphones, has been excellent. This has primarily driven the company’s profits up, bringing in a cool $3.56 billion in profits during the fourth quarter of 2011.

Apple Won A Round In The Legal Battle Against Samsung In German court

A court in the German city of Mannheim decided recently that Apple has not infringed Samsung’s patent and the Cupertino based company managed to strike another blow to its enemy. Apple and Samsung are clenched in a legal war in more than 10 lawsuits held in courts from all over the world, from the United States to Australia, France and Japan.

Samsung Announces Star 3 and Star 3 Duos

It took a year for the South Korean phone maker to expand the popular Star series. After the success of the two models in this series, Star and Star 2, considered as best selling Samsung products, by the end of this month two more versions will hit the market, Star 3 and Star 3 DUOS. The company announced that its fans from Russia will be the first to get their hands on the new Samsung phones, followed by the customers from CIS, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The Star 3 DUOS will also be available in Southwest Asia.

CES 2012: Dell Will Re-Enter Tablet Market By The End Of 2012

As we see it, the tablet market seem largely dominated by Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Samsung did have some success with it’s Galaxy Tab but it still isn’t a major contender. And Google, too, has been ramping up plans to launch a Google tablet. In all this, the traditional tech giants, such as Dell, seem out of luck and out of business. At CES 2012, Dell’s Chief Financial Office, in an interview, said that Dell has all plans of re-entering the tablet market by the end of 2012.

Toshiba Excite, The Slimmest Tablet on the Market so Far

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show is reportedly going to present a lot of exciting new products and first news about new releases are just hitting the blogosphere. As rumored previously, Toshiba already presented a new tablet that broke a record. Toshiba Excite, is with about 7.7 millimeter thin, 1 millimeter thinner than the previous world slimmest tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
