Apple Planning For Build Third Corporate Campus

MercuryNews reports that Apple has told Cupertino Mayor Gilbert Wong that plans are underway for a third corporate campus and it appears that the company has acknowledged that even that mammoth 13,000-employee complex probably won’t be sufficient and that it will likely begin planning on a third campus once Apple Campus 2 is up and running in 2015. Apple’s planning documents filed with the city show its new office is now expected to be busier than first thought and the 176-acre campus is set to house up to 13,000 employees or 1,000 more than Jobs first suggested when he publicly unveiled the plans in June……………..

Android Downloads To Surpass Apple

Research firm Ovum says smartphone app downloads will be up 144 percent this year and Android downloads will overtake iOS app downloads for the first time, which means is on its way to surpassing Apple’s number of annual app downloads. pple’s iTunes App Store has been way out in front with the Android Market ringing up a somewhat-distant second place and Ovum expects Android to garner some 8.1 billion app downloads this year, compared to about 6 billion for Apple iOS devices……………..

HTC Sues Apple For Using Google Patents

HTC suing Apple claiming infringement of four of its nine patents, which it bought from Google just last week and the suit was filed in Delaware, where the Taiwanese company had already sued Apple in an entirely different filing last month. When Google closes the Motorola Mobility deal it will get 17,000 patents and that arsenal is likely to be enough for Google to open a patent candy store, will be handing out patents like Gummy Bears. These patents often cross through many hands and the innovation argument is a bit questionable…………….

Apple Sues Samsung To Ban Sales In Japan

Apple has filed lawsuit against Samsung in Japan, accusing Samsung for violating patents relating to the iPhone and iPad and demanding 100m yen ($1.3m) in damages along with a ban on sales. Apple Free From iCloud Trademark Lawsuit

iCloud Communications drops lawsuit against Apple, decides to change name instead and in addition to having spent more than $550,000 building up its data center and telecommunications hub in Phoenix, iCloud Communications claimed to spend tens of thousands of dollars annually in advertisements using its own iCloud logos.
