Apple A6 Processor Goes Into Production With TSMC For Future iOS Devices

Apple’s next-generation A6 processor, expected to arrive in future versions of the iPad and iPhone, is said to have gone into trial production ahead of a launch expected in the first half of 2012 and TSMC again tipped to be in trial production of the new ARM-based silicon. TSMC was said to be testing its 28nm processes on the A6 with Apple basing its eventual order decisions on what yield the manufacturer could achieve and TSMC has declined to comment on the Apple speculation, though has said that it expects its order book to look healthier in Q4 as customer inventory dwindles. And people who are hoping for a surprise iPad 3 coming in the next few months, you will probably be waiting a little longer…………..

Apple has shown interest in creating a new Maps application for the iPhone and other iOS devices that would exaggerate some details, like roads or landmarks to make navigation easier to follow and a patent shows that Apple’s maps will simplify things to the user by providing the most relevant information in the given situation. Coincidentally this seems to go with Apple’s overall design philosophy and the patent is called Schematic Maps, which first determines the amount of screen real estate that is available to the user………….

Apple Sued Over E-Book Pricing

Apple and a group of book publishers were accused in a lawsuit f illegally fixing e-book prices to boost profits and force e-book rival Amazon to abandon its pro-consumer discount pricing and the lawsuit filed in the Northern District of California claims Apple and Hachette, HarperCollins, MacMillan, Penguin, and Simon & Shuster illegally worked together to enable an agency model as the standard for e-book sales, rather than the wholesale model that is used in the physical publishing industry. The suit was brought by law firm Hagens Berman and the firm said Apple wanted to twist the ebook market into an environment that matched its walled-garden iTunes music store……………..

UK Apple Stores Removes Products

Apple taken the stance of removing Apple gear from their stores and Apple has removed all their products from display after closing for the day, no doubt in an attempt to put temptation out of the sight of rioters. It appears that the riots are spreading across the United Kingdom and some have said that the army should be called in to bring order to the streets. Liverpool itself has not yet endured reports of violence there and the management of its Apple store appears to be taking no chances…………….
