Apple didn’t show off iOS 5 this month just to sit on it until next year and iOS 5 will see release nearly simultaneously as the iPhone 5. Most likely release date for the iPhone 5 is 7 September 2011 and the general feeling is that Apple will postpone the annual iPod refresh and use the space to unveil the iPhone 5 instead………..

In February, Apple has changed some of there rules concerning in-app purchases by content providers also for e-Book sellers. When you provided a method for purchasing content outside of the application, you also had to include a native in-app purchase mechanism as well, so that Apple could get a 30 percent cut on each purchase. Apple Slams Samsung With More Stronger Accusations Of Copycat

Apple has been granted access to Samsung devices that it alleges violate patents held by Apple and in defeat Samsung decided to try the same tactic, Samsung asked the courts for samples of the iPad 3 and iPhone 5, despite the fact that the devices haven’t been announced and now apple has gone back and amended its patent complaint.According to Apple, the Droid Charge, Infuse 4G, Nexus S 4G, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy S II and a handful of other Samsung devices are all also infringing on the patents in question and Apple now saying Samsung has been even bolder than other competitors in copying its products………

MacBook Air: $3 Billion Dollar Oppurtunity to Apple

J.P. Morgan hardware analyst Mark Moskowitz has increased his assessment of the MacBook Air’s revenue opportunity from $2.2 billion to $3 billion-plus and Apple is expected to release a Sandy Bridge MacBook Air within the next month or so and also would wait until Mac OS X Lion dropped before releasing any new hardware. Other vendors will chase the size and weight and functionality of the Air, because that class of laptop offers many of the benefits of tablet computing, such as being lighter, thinner, having quick boot times and Apple’s iCloud offering could help turn Apple‘s ultra-thin MacBook Air into a $3 billion-a-year business, even as sales of fatter notebooks and desktop computers stagnate………..

Apple Is Being Sued For Using “iBooks”

Apple Inc. was sued by New York publisher John T. Colby in federal court today for trademark infringement over its use of the term iBooks, Colby bought in 2006 and 2007 the assets of various entities owned by New York publisher Byron Preiss, who had published more than 1,000 hardcover and paperback books under the ibooks name starting in September 1999. Colby’s suit acknowledges that Apple has a trademark for iBook related to its use on the personal computer, the Mac and did not begin to use the term to describe an electronic book or method for delivering electronic books until 2010……….
