[Video] Silicon Valley Startup Puzzlebox Bringing Mind-controlled Helicopter

Apart from many small unmanned helicopters or drones that can be controlled with remote control or smartphone, we have seen brain controlled helicopter too. Though the brained-controlled technology is not new, still we’ve seen very few of mind controlled helicopters. However now a Silicon Valley startup Puzzlebox has come up with a new project in Kickstarter – a mind-controlled helicopter.

Brain-controlled Helicopter By Puzzlebox

San Francisco-based Puzzlebox launched a Kickstarter project on November 8. The project is to control a helicopter through mind. The mind-controlled helicopter is called Orbit. Controlling Orbit is quiet amazing. Orbit will be connected to a NeuroSky MindWave Mobile Electroencephalography (EEG) headset. The helicopter controller has to put on this headset on his/her head. This headset can measure brain waves and reads the user’s mind. When the user wishes the helicopter to fly, it starts flying in air. See the video.

Puzzlebox launched this project on November 8, 2012. The project needs $10,000 for further development. Till now 69 backers have funded a total amount of $11,485 (as of writing). If you are interested to fund something for this amazing project, you can do that by last date of funding which is December 8, 2012. That means you have 24 days left (as of writing).

The developers have said that they will release all documentation of the Orbit ad will make it as an open source and open hardware project so that interested people as well as tinkers can make their own without any hassle. For more details about the project, head over to Kickstarter.
