Asus to Release Padfone At Mobile World Congress 2012

Asus fans that were waiting for the company to announce Padfone, the rumored high-end Android smartphone were disappointed. Apparently, Asus delayed the release for the next month’s major event, Mobile World Congress hosted in Barcelona on February 27th. Visitors at the Consumer Electronics Show that takes place in Las Vegas these days, had the chance of catching a quick glimpse at Padfone and Padstation displayed under a glass case in Asus stand.

So, the prototypes exist and to increase the suspense, the company officials announced that the actual devices would reveal even more impressive features than the analysts predicted since the mid of last year. The upcoming hybrid device, a smartphone powered by a quad core Tegra 3 processor and running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich can slip into a tablet in order to make the best out of a larger screen. The 4.3 inch Padfone is reportedly going to hit the market with a set of impressive apps specially designed for it.

Some industry observers hint that currently Asus is working on developing these apps. As the company confirmed for Pocket-Lint website, the official release will be hosted at an event with an enticing title “Incredible Mobile, Endless Possibilities.”
