As the Mobile World Congress date draws near, we expect to find out more news about the upcoming smartphones brought by the world’s biggest developers. But until then, we could start and make some predictions about a leaked photographed that apparently showcases Sony’s upcoming ST25i “Kumquat” Android smartphone.
The device is rumored to sport a 3.5-inch qHD display with a 1GHz dual-core processor a 5-megapixel rear camera and 480 x 854 pixel resolution. But according to a piece of document found on the official site of Indonesia’s telecom authority, the ST25i Kumquat is listed under the name “Sony Ericsson Xperia U”. So which one will be?
Judging from the photo posted online, the Kumquat looks pretty much as the Xperia S, minus the 3.5-inch display and the 854×480 resolution. Some have called it the Xperia S “Mini” version.
Unfortunately these are all the details we are able to provide for the device so far, but after the Mobile World Congress in Spain, we’re confident that more new specs will surface. There are plenty of new Android smartphone waiting in line to be paraded at the MWC 2012 and the new Xperia might just be one of them.
