E FUN Nextbook Next2 Android Tablet

E FUN is preparing to launch a new line of Android tablets naming as Nextbook.Next2 Model Features a 7″ Color TFT Touch Screen Display, Wi-Fi and Multimedia functions.In addition to the Nextbook brand, E FUN is also launching the APEN brand of digital pens.

Nextbook’s Next2 model Andriod tablet computer with built-in e-reader and WiFi will be launching with HSN this fall. In addition to the Nextbook brand, E FUN is also launching the APEN brand of digital pens.

The Nextbook line of tablets feature Google’s powerful Linux-based Android operating system. The Next2 has a generous 7″ TFT color display, 2GB of memory as well as an SD/MMC card slot for memory expansion, and a MP3/photo viewer. 25 books, as well as videos and music, are pre-loaded into every Next2. Each comes with a stylish protective cover case with magnetic closure to keep it safe.

Every Nextbook model has a preloaded Borders eBook Store application making it easy to purchase and download favorite titles. “Shopping” for an e-book is like shopping for a printed book, except the book is delivered instantly to your Nextbook. The Borders eBook store offers more than one-million titles, many of which are free. Nextbook owners can choose the latest bestsellers and new releases as well as specific categories such as biography, fiction, romance, etc., right from the comfort of their own home.

E FUN Nextbook Android tablet e-readers will be available first on HSN beginning in November. MSRP is a very affordable $199.99 for the Next2.

    I’m getting the same android process.acore has stopped unexpectedly and thought about restoring to factory but I can get past the aforementioned error flag. As soon as I click Force Close it comes up again so I can get to the settings menu! Time for Nextbook to get on this and make good on all of these units that everyone has purchased and can’t use.

    I think I got a lemon. My wifi sometimes dissapears, I can not get into my library and battery does not hold a charge. Nextbook is less than than two months. Note a fan anymore.

    I just got the nextbook for christmas.. and so far i have had no problems using it. As far as the charge.. when charging this product you can not turn it off completely, you have to put it on sleep mode.. which means holding the power button down for just a short second or 2. and as for games… yes you can download games .. any game really.. as long as you have enough memory on the next2.. which means getting an SD card… i bought my SD card at walmart.. 8gb for 18 dollars.

    You must use the stylus when calibrating the screen and touch the center of the x. Your finger is not that small. If it is not calibrated accurately, your screen is going to misread your pointing (ie – type a “w” instead of an “a”). Next2 was not the problem, your finger was!

    I opened the menu and clicked on email app and it just walked me through the process using a gmail account. Now my Next2 works like a Blackberry or iphone and signals when I get an email no matter what I am doing on it. Good luck!

    Sounds like a WiFi signal problem. Did you set up your Wifi service using the icon on the menu screen?

    Frustrated beyond belief with this product. I purchased this as a gift for my husband for Christmas and this is going back without a doubt! It worked perfectly for the first 3 hours, then the screen became unstable. It flickers and moves on its own, as though someone is constantly and rapidly selecting icons. It changes settings frequently because of this completely on its own. It now has three widgets running on the home screen that it selected and it happens so quickly you cannot cancel or de-select anything. Once they’re on and locked in place it’s nearly impossible to get them off due to the instability of the system.

    Though Nextbook 2 IS running Android 2.1, its market is not open to the standard Android market most smartphone droid users are accustomed to. It has its own limited market. Much like the iPad it cannot display Flash either.

    During the first three hours that it operated correctly we thought we had a gem as my husband travels the country on business and most of his business is conducted through the internet and email. He didn’t need something as techy and high-end as a Samsung Galaxy or iPad, particularly because he’s not techy AT ALL and just needed something to work on that was easy to carry and didn’t want an actual netbook. When it worked it did everything he needed. Then the icons and homescreen display began jumping around. It changed time zones, city setting, changed the password on his email login, changed numerous things.

    The reset switch seemed to fix it for a day, but then it began it’s erratic behavior again and has not been stable since. Before HSN pulled the product from their line whether that’s because they claim to have run-out or due to the unbelievable number of negative feedback which posted on Christmas day and the days following – the rating on the product dropped on Christmas day from a 4.5 to a 1. Numerous customers (at my last check it was closing in on 200, before the item disappeared from the HSN electronics section of the site) posting that their new Christmas gift, whether given or received, would freeze, have erratic display behavior or not connect to the wifi no matter what.

    Ours never froze and did connect to the wifi within seconds of booting up and the speed was quite impressive, but once the display behavior started it was over.

    It’s a nightmare to deal with. The company e-Fun has NO customer service support. I’ve been trying since the day after Christmas to see if there was a download or patch or some setting someone could walk me through to fix it, but one week later and I have still have yet to speak to a person. HSN is of no help, because all they can offer is a refund or a merchandise credit.

    This product would be an affordable and amazing little addition for anyone who enjoys connectivity and technology if more of the devices worked consistently. It seems to me that in an effort to make the Christmas season sales, e-Fun released the product before it was 100% consumer tested. Sadly I have found far more customers with a negative experience than those who managed to get lucky and get a good one.

    Disappointed in the product, but more so because it was a gift for my husband.

    Yeah! Couldn’t figure out why sometimes it charged and sometimes it didn’t! Thanks for the tip on leaving it on.

    Also, so far love my nextbook. Still working out the kinks and figuring out how to use it. Searching the internet has been the BEST way to figure out how to do things. 🙂

    I was able to use the USB cable to hook it up to my computer and just drop the music files to the removable drive. (there’s a quick reference guide that came with the unit that explains this.) It knows where to put the music file once you drag and drop the file to the external drive. (you just have to find the right one…)

    Wow! I was literally MOMENTS away from ordering this on HSN, noticed they had no reviews, decided to check the web for reviews and landed here…I WILL NOT BE ORDERING THIS PRODUCT. I’m sorry for all of you and your troubles…but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING HERE!! Best of luck to you all..

    I was having the same problem and found I needed to go to the wifi settings and put in the password for my router, tried that and the unit came to life, now if I could only get my emails to come up I would be a happy camper

    I did just order it about 30 minutes ago. My 67yr old Mother has one, my sister & my boss got them too. They all are flawless machines. Although the very first batch that was sold prior to Christmas had some bugs, it was quickly pulled from the market, rebuilt & now is wonderful. I ordered one from that first batch, although I had no issues I returned it because I was buying it as a gift but went with a laptop for them for college instead. I miss it so I ordered another. I have read all these reviews (negative reviews) & so far every issue I have read is because of user error, inexperienced users, or just plain old NOT reading the manual correctly. Many of these issues written here I have seen the fix for in my Mothers manual or just downright experience. Im pretty frustrated at all the people on here who are giving this great product a bad name just because THEY dont use it right or havent read the manual. I cant wait to get my new one & I know im going to love it because I know how to use it & also read a manual. I would say, dont pass on buying something that you wanted just because people dont know how to use the product. I have shopped HSN for years & they stand behind EVERYTHING they sell. You can use it & play with it for a month & If for any reason you dont like it, they gladly will refund your money in 4 days, no questions. Thats what they did when i returned the first nextbook I ordered as a gift. I love that!

    As stated in the manual as well as on the HSN product page you placed your order from…you need to reset it. They say to use a small paper clip & stick it in the little reset hole. Look in the manual for reset directions or just go to HSN & pull up the product page & read the bottom instructions!

    Dont get offended but some people have been leaving negative reviews & saying its a doozy & wont even charge. Come to find they where plugging the charger cord into the wrong hole. I would double check that first, then if not call HSN & either get a refund or a replacement sent before they sell out.
