Android devices have truly been the highlight of the Mobile World Congress 2012. Whereas Android vendors unveiled some of the most impressive products at the event, rumors were also abundant regarding the next Android operating system. It had been speculated that it would be called ‘Jelly Bean’ and now VP of Asus, Benson Lin has confirmed it.
So far, this is the first confirmation from a notable official as regards the actual name of Android 5.0 which is expected to arrive some time next year. Benson didn’t stop short at just confirming the name of the moniker for Android 5.0 but also make a rather bold claim that Android 5.0 will most probably debut on Asus devices.
Of course this isn’t official and confirmed but in his own words, “Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.” Asus has already been seen taking great strides to lead the Android market by some excellent released during MWC 2012. The flagship transformer series of tablets from Asus have been hitting the high-end users and are expected to find the company a solid presence in the tablet market.
