Fujitsu Shows Off New TH40/D Convertible Tablet in Japan

Fujitsu has just announced their LifeBook TH 40/D, and the gadget will most assuredly exhibit the iconic Fujitsu design of being sturdy to the core and will feature the company’s first slide-out keyboard. The line-up “TH40 / D” in the development of a model, plans to launch in late June 2011. The expected street price of around 80,000 yen.

The TH Series tablet is a 10.1-inch multitouch slate with a full keyboard that slides out when needed. The specs have it firmly in the netbook category, with Atom Oak Trail processor (1.5 GHz), 1 GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi.

This new little TH40D really stands-out of what usually Fujitsu propose with a gorgeous looking design and let’s say “Apple Like” Aluminum chassis and gorgeous screen with a Black Frame. The TH40D is also very light with a weight of only 1.1kg and a total thickness of 17.4mm.
The only draw back that I may think about here is that it only runs on Windows 7, while a dual boot Windows/Android would have been a killer combo!

Thanks
